Description Art inspired by the pectoral of Egyptian princess Sit-Hathor-yunet. The original treasure now housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art dates from the 12th Dynasty, c. 1887-1883 BC and was crafted from gold, carnelian, feldspar, garnet and turquoise.The main elements are two sun-falcons (Re-Horachkty) which flank the lower kneeling figure of Heh (god of eternity and endlessness) holds the symbols for 'millions of years'. Above this, enclosed in a royal cartouche, is the name of king Senwosret II, given in hieroglyphs as 'Becoming to Appear as Re'. Additional symbols include the ankh, sign for life, and the shen which indicates encirclement and ownership of the totality of the cosmos.
